Computer services

All Tauranga City libraries have computers and internet access available for use during opening hours.

We have desktop computers and Chromebooks available to members of the public. Headsets are required for watching movies or listening to music.

Our devices, software, and internet are provided by the National Library through the Aotearoa People's Network Kaharoa (APNK). You must abide by APNK's computer-use policy when using our computers.

Time allowance for using the computers is 60 minutes for both library card holders and guest pass holders. Please talk to library staff if you require more time.

Creating and editing documents can be done online using services such as Google Docs or Office 365. If you want to create or edit documents, you will require a Google or Microsoft account.

Wifi

Wifi is free at our libraries.

There are two public networks available:

  • APNK Library (our standard public access wifi network)
Connect to our wifi network ‘APNK Library’ with the password: apnk2765
  • eduroam (for eduroam users)
eduroam (short for education roaming) is a secure, worldwide roaming access service that allows students, researchers, and staff from participating institutions to obtain internet connectivity at their campus or offices and when visiting other participating institutions. More information about eduroam can be found on the REANNZ (Research Education Advanced Network New Zealand) website.

Scanning

Scanning is free in our libraries. Please see a staff member.
